Channel idents are the first clear views of what a channel stands for and is the strongest visual representation of the channels. They are basically the short clips that are played before each show starts to make sure the viewers know what channel they're watching and relate the main characteristics of the indent to normal things such as colours and objects to remind them of it. Over time, the expenses on idents have increased drastically.
The main characters most idents share are logos at the end of the indent, one colour dominating most of the screen and no narration.
