Frames and rules of third

The rule of third is a guideline for photographers that suggests that a picture is divided into 9 different parts by 2 vertical and 2 horizontal lines. It encourages photographers to place the objects of attention on or on the intersection of the lines which supposedly makes the pictures more pleasing to the eye.

To achieve these settings, we set the cameras shutter speed to 1/500s and the ISO to 800. We then attempted to take a picture of a water droplet hitting water. These were the results.
