Blur
To achieve this effect, we set our cameras settings to aperture priority mode and then set the F to 5.6, we then went around snapping pictures of random things.

Frames and rules of third
The rule of third is a guideline for photographers that suggests that a picture is divided into 9 different parts by 2 vertical and 2 horizontal lines. It encourages photographers to place the objects of attention on or on the intersection of the lines which supposedly makes the pictures more pleasing to the eye.

Fast shutter
To achieve these settings, we set the cameras shutter speed to 1/500s and the ISO to 800. We then attempted to take a picture of a water droplet hitting water. These were the results.

Light Orbs
To achieve these effects, what we did is attach a small light to a string, set up a cameras ISO to 100 with a 20 second shutter speed and recorded us spinning the light on a string to achieve different results.

Role evaluation
The process of creating a magazine show always begins with the planning, getting Writers to write scripts for the presenters, getting the Director to write a running order, a camera script and a script for himself as well as getting the Producer to make a call sheet for everyone. The planning involes a lot of writing and is definitely the most vital part of a show. After all the planning is done and the day of shooting the show arrives, it is the Set designers responsibility to make sure the set is ready for action and is safe for everyone else. Once the cameras are rolling, it is the Directors role to lead the Camera operators, the Visual mixer and the Lighting designer, while the Floor manager makes sure everything is under control on the recording area.
The role I was given for our show was a Camera operator as well as being set responsible for designing an intro for the show, which I believe turned out rather fitting. The role of a Camera operator doesn't include many responsibilities, as all I have to go by is a camera script and the Directors orders. I had to make sure the main presenters were always in the center of the shot, otherwise everything would look out of place and unprofessional.
Having the role of a Camera operator has it's ups and downs, the negatives would have to be the fact that the set was quite small so there wasn't any space to move around which forced me to stay in one spot for most of the recording. Another thing would have to be that the tripod I was using was quite stiff which restricted me from using swift movements to make the shots look fancy and in the end turned out looking amateur. The positives of being a Camera operator is that in the end it was quite enjoyable and it sets you in control (for the most part) of how you want a show to look like.
Overall, in my opinion, being a Camera operator isn't a bad career choice to make, but nor would I say is it a perfect one, it's a delightful experience if you have the mobility to execute the shots you want but for the most part you're forced to follow orders.

Insert evaluation
We decided to do our insert about a film review but we didn't want it to be a typical video talking about a recently released movie, we wanted to review quite possibly the worst movie of all time, that would make our insert rather unique and entertaining.
I believe our insert turned out quite succesful since it was entertaining, informative and educational in a way. Although it went over the time limit given to us, I think it makes up for it with the content, especially since cutting the time down wouldn't make the review as informative.
The process of making an insert started with the planning where we thought about all the possible points we could discuss about the movie and what clips we could use while talking over it, as well as who would be talking at what time. We then moved on to fetching the clips from the movie to give the viewers a taste of what the movie is really like. After we got the clips necessary, we worked on a script, we tried to keep it as lively as possible so the viewers wouldn't get bored easily and we tried using sarcasm throughout the review since the movie was pretty bad. After this, all that was left was recording the voices and rendering the video.
Overall, I found this a quite enjoyable experience and would definitely do something like this again in my own time, as bashing on a bad movie is entertaining in its own special little way. The process wasn't that hard and was rather simple which made the whole project pleasant. In the end, I'm pretty happy with how the final insert turned out, and all the planning beforehand helped out a lot.
If I could re-do the insert, the only thing I would change would be the length of it, since it goes a little over the time limit.

Plan
Movie Review
Write the script for the review.
One person talks about the movie while the clips from the said movie roll in the background.
Be sarcastic about the review to entertain the viewers, since the movie is rather terrible.
An opening to the review introducing the movie and showing the poster of it.
Give examples of why the movie is bad by showing clips and elaborating on them.
Tell the audience the summary of the movie.

Light photography
To achieve this effect, what we did was set the shutter speed to 1/20s and the ISO to 200, then we used a torch and just drew whatever came to mind, the pictures above are the ones we feel are the best ones.

Slow shutter photographs
To achieve a Frozen movement photo, I had to pan a moving object of my choice for a couple of seconds and when comfortable, I snapped a picture of it, making it seem like that object is frozen in time. To achieve that photo I used 1/125s shutter speed.

David Starkey
Dear BBC studios
After watching an episode of Newsnight, I was left sickened and disgusted about the way David Starkey acted. He was showing lack of respect, rudeness and a lot of racism. I don't believe that you should be broadcasting this kind of vulgarity on public TV where kids could be watching. What if the kids who watched it picked up some bad attitude traits from the talk show guest?
When he started talking about how White have become Blacks the whole audience had an outburst of rage, if that doesn't show enough concern, then I don't know what would. He has no right to act like this on TV where everyone can see him. This isn't the first time he did something like this and I have no idea how he keeps coming on our televisions.
Frankie Boyle
Some months ago, the infamous comedian Frankie Boyle made a somewhat offensive joke regarding Katie Price and her son Harvey. His exact quote was "I have a theory that Jordan married that cage fighter cause she needed someone strong enough to stop Harvey from fuckng her". The reason why this joke was extremely offensive was due to the fact that not only is Harvey just a child, but he also has a disability and is rather heavy. I believe that Frankie crossed the line with this joke, since it's completely out of order to make fun of a disabled CHILD. Although Harvey probably has no idea he was insulted or even knows who Frankie Boyle is, it still shows lack of respect for him.
Katie Price had her rebuttal on a radio show calling him a 'Mouse' during her conversation with the host about the joke Frankie made.

Rupert Murdoch
I'm here to argue on behalf of Rupert Murdoch as to why he has the complete right to own the full share of BSkyB. The reason why is because, as a matter of fact, he was the one who FOUNDED it in the first place. How can you deny a mans claim for his own company back?
Of course arguments such as 'He'd feed everyone propaganda' arise, but then again, why would he work so hard and so long to get his company back just to risk getting it all taken away. Wouldn't make much sense, huh? He isn't a stupid man, if he was, he wouldn't be in charge of so many companies at this very moment.
He might have made poor calls in the past, such as hacking Milly Dowlers phone, but that doesn't mean he didn't make some good ones. You can't judge a person by only the mistakes he made and not acknowledge the success he achieved, you must account for all his actions.
This is why I believe that he deservers to once again be the complete owner of BSkyB.

Ident Evaluation
On the first week we used the time to it's full potential and produced some nice work. However, on the second week even though we produced more work, we wasted some time doing nothing. It was rather difficult at the start to shape the clay into the shapes we desired because it was kind of stiff.
The crew mates were great for most of the time and helped out although sometimes wouldn't contribute any work. And each of us have missed a day which set us back a tad bit and didn't give us enough time to improve it. But overall I feel like our team did a fine job from the time we had on it since doing claymation animation takes time and patience.
Going by the assignment brief, I feel like we've done it pretty well, the idea was to show how different coloured balls representing unique people can combine themselves to create something bigger which we hope promotes teamwork.
Even though we think the idea was solid, the way we presented it was rather sloppy, we attempted to combine different coloured plasticine together in hope of recreating the CWC logo, but we messed up and just had to carve the logo.
The area of the project I am most proud of is how smooth the beginning was, I feel like we did a great job on animating it since it felt more like a video than a stop motion animation, it was quite seamless which made me happy.

John
The media uses sympathy to get the public to support their goal, they show images of of suffering children and tell the viewer their saddening stories about how difficult life in Uganda is.
This makes the viewer feel bad about what's going on in Uganda so they're willing to support their cause to help seize the criminal known as Kony by any means necessary.

Result analysis
After analyzing the
survey results I got from my classmates, I’ve deducted that most people are
aware of the story but didn’t have much info about it since the answers were
all mixed.
Even though the media keeps going on and on about it through TV and newspapers thinking that that the public is interested, in reality no one seems to care, nobody really discusses this with their mates as it doesn't seem like something worth discussing.
